For the third time, Jimmy Kimmel is set out to host one of the biggest events in the film industry, the Oscars. The acclaimed TV host says he is in some serious preparations for the Oscar events. As part of his preparations, he is following some weight loss tactics.
Weight loss and exercise were not always his usual go-to methods. Still, Kimmel wants to trim down a bit for the big events. Read on to know how the veteran TV host plans to lose weight before the Oscars.
Jimmy Kimmel Doesn’t Want To Look Like ‘Cocaine Bear’
While Oscar events are set to be on the run later this month, Jimmy Kimmel is under some serious weight loss preparations. As the assigned host of the show for the third time, he says he doesn’t want to look like a ‘Cocaine Bear’ at the events.
The 55-year-old TV host of the acclaimed Jimmy Kimmel Live, a late-night talk show that premiered on ABC, Kimmel is all set to welcome the Oscars.
In a talk with People magazine, he revealed that he is eating some healthy foods delivered to him in small containers. The TV anchor is not much happy about this. For him, while everyone else is gulping down spaghetti, he is eating some tacos with no tortillas.
All this fuss happened when Kimmel tried on his tuxedo that he wore five years ago for the big event. This was a Tom Ford tuxedo that he wore for the 2018 Oscars, and it didn’t quite fit in. The realization that he has become like a homemade sausage prompted him to lose weight.
In addition to diet, he has also taken up some exercises to lose those extra pounds from his body. Oscar is a huge event for the two-time Primetime Emmy winner, and he wants to give his maximum performance there.
Weight loss was not always the cup of tea for Jimmy Kimmel. Yet, back in 2015, he revealed about following a 5:2 diet to lose weight. According to it, he ate whatever he wanted for the five days of the week. And for the rest of the two days, he restricted his calorie intake to less than 500 calories.
This diet helped him to lose around 25 pounds without much exercise. As the host recalls, the fasting part was the most difficult for him. In his own words, the two days where he limited his calories were tedious and he was “pretty unpleasant to be around” on those days.
Jimmy Kimmel has hosted the Academy Awards twice, in 2017 and 2018. He will be the master of ceremony for the 95th Oscars this year too. The acclaimed TV host is under rigorous preparations to host the show.
He revealed that he is discussing the running bits and going through some late-night brainstorming with his wife Molly Mc Nearney, who is also an executive producer for the Oscar broadcast.
According to him, he wants to give 75 percent for the event and leave the rest for improvisation. For this acclaimed TV host, he is ready to make it an unforgettable experience in his career journey.
